An atom is a collection of electrons, protons and neutrons. While protons and neutrons are constant in motion and reside inside molecule of an atom and electrons circulate among the molecule.
electrons : Negatively charged
protons : Positively charged
neutrons : Acts neutral , no charge.
- conductors: Conductors are metals which lets the heat/electricity pass through it like iron, bronze and steel. Metals let the electrons pass through one atom to another, so metals invites electricity or heat.
- insulators: Insulators are non-metals which doesn't let the heat/electricity pass through it. Like wood, paper and plastic. Insulators won't let the electrons pass through one atom to another, so that electricity or heat restricted.

Why birds don't get electrocuted while budging?
Electricity flows along the path of least resistance. Birds don't get shocked when they sit on electrical wires because they are not good conductors of electricity. Their cells and tissues do not offer electrons an easier route than the copper wire they're already traveling along.
