How Induction Motor works
A Single phase induction motor needs a capacitor to initiate initial rotation for the motor
Nicolus Tesla - who is the man reason for introducing this capacitor in single phase induction motor. When the motor gets started both magnetic fields running opposite directions cause motor to run in either direction but it needs a push.
When this capacitor introduced, one of the field gets energized and causes for rotation.
